Apparently, the average cost of going to the vet sits at just over steep £100- the same cost as the average trip for a cat and about £50 short of the average trip for a dog.
Depressingly, one in six families will have to foot a bill for a serious injury or illness, costing just under £700 – a third, unsurprisingly, can not afford to visit the vet at all.
Money Now! USA’s infographic claims that half of pet owners will only take the trip if it’s a serious injury, despite the fact that 90% say their pet is one of the family.
36% of dogs even get a birthday party. But only 20% of cats.
That, right there, is discrimination.
