Maternity leave has been a big issue recently here in the UK, but it turns out that we’re not doing too badly nationwide.
With 6 weeks paid at 90% of your wage, and a fixed rate for 33 weeks afterwards, the likes of Slovakia, Hungary and France all dwindle in comparison.
The real surprise here is the USA, which has no mandated maternity leave. Zero.
The infographic, by Women && Tech, also highlights the 26 weeks of shared leave (that was the centre of the UK debate late last year, and looks set to change in 2015).
In some central European countries, it rises to a massive 3 years of mandated maternity leave. A stark comparison.
